Google Jamboard

Teachers must be logged into their BCPS Google account when accessing Google Workspace tools for use with students and for any BCPS related work.

Grade levels: Primary, Intermediate, Middle, High

Google Jamboard is an interactive whiteboard that supports educators with engaging all students in the learning process, whether working together in a traditional classroom, a group setting, or through distance learning. Jamboard makes it easy for students and educators to join a collaborative whiteboard space that provides basic drawing tools and features.

This tool is not intended as product creation or presentation software.

ISTE Standards for Students

    • Creative Communicator. 6a - Students choose the appropriate platforms and tools for meeting the desired objectives of their creation or communication.

    • Creative Collaborator. 6b - Students create original works or responsibly repurpose or remix digital resources into new creations.

    • Creative Collaborator. 6c - Students communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively by creating or using a variety of digital objects such as visualizations, models or simulations.

Ideas for Use

  • Write, add sticky notes, and add images to the Jamboard to collaborate with students and colleagues

  • Create interactive graphic organizers or response prompts; Copy the page multiple times; Assign each student a page to complete the work

  • Search and insert files from your Google Account into a Jamboard for students to collaborate in real-time

  • Search Google and insert images or webpages

  • Drag and resize text and images with your fingers

  • Share your jams with collaborators- Up to 50 people can work on a jam at once
