Lightspeed Classroom

Overview

Grade levels: Primary, Intermediate, Middle, High

Lightspeed Classroom is a tool that allows teachers to view student browsing activity on Chromebooks in real-time. Teachers can also control certain aspects of the devices with an easy to use classroom management tool. 

Access: Staff can access Lightspeed Classroom through the Microsoft Apps Portal. 

  1. Enter your BCPS email address and select Continue. 

  2. Click Continue with Microsoft. You do not need to enter your BCPS password.

Teachers can visit the teacher landing page for quick instructions for key features like setting up classes, monitoring students, and more! This interactive demo will provide teachers with a walkthrough which will highlight some features available with Lightspeed.

ISTE Standards for Students

    • Digital Citizen. 2b - Students engage in positive, safe, legal and ethical behavior when using technology, including social interactions online or when using networked devices. 

    • Digital Citizen. 2d - Students manage their personal data to maintain digital privacy and security and are aware of data-collection technology used to track their navigation online. 

Ideas for Use


  • Allow or block websites for student access during a session

  • Instantly direct students to a specified website by sending them a link

  • Pause student activity by locking and unlocking their screen

  • Use the student information panel to see student activity live
