Virtual Learning Support Resources
BCPS users can visit each of the Innovation HUB pages linked below to explore available resources to support virtual instruction. Teachers must be logged into their BCPS Google account when accessing G Suite tools for use with students and for any BCPS related work. Please reference Setting Up Users in Google Chrome for support in logging into your BCPS Google Account

This presentation is intended to help teachers and staff think about the logistical and technical considerations for transitioning to virtual learning should BCPS use more than 3 inclement weather days.
You can access the Digital Resource Toolbox to explore the complete list of BCPS approved licensed digital content and instructional tools. Each tool page contains videos and/or resource documents providing instructions for set-up, use, and student accessibility.

Google Meet is a video conferencing tool from Google that is available for all BCPS teachers and students for synchronous instruction. This digital tool supports:
New Layout (January 2024)- The newly updated layout overview video provides support to teachers in need of a refresher or who are new to Meet
Breakout Rooms - Small groups & partner work between in-person and virtual students
Q&A, Polling - Formative assessment, communication
Chat - Online discussion, student participation, resource sharing, communication

Schoology (skoo-luh-jee) is BCPS' online Learning Management System which provides teachers with tools to create engaging content, design lessons, and assess student understanding. This digital tool supports:
Updates- Communication
Grading Groups, Individually Assign - Small groups & partner work for in-person and virtual students, customized content delivery
Assessments/Assignments - Formative assessment, student artifacts, responsive feedback, accessibility, independent work
Discussions - Formative assessment, student participation, independent work, communication
Course Design - Designing a space that meets your student's needs!
Text, Video, and Audio Options - Provide student choice in demonstrating learning

Microsoft Office products are available for all BCPS teachers and students. Microsoft Office has a suite of programs that support productivity tasks, which includes OneDrive, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, Forms, Teams, and more! This digital tool supports:

Microsoft Whiteboard on the web is focused on real-time inking and collaboration. The web-based version of the application currently allows users to create and join boards, create and erase ink, and collaborate with others invited to the board. It gives a true "real classroom" version of a face-to-face whiteboard where students can grab a marker and write on the board with classmates!

Wixie is web-based creation software that is available for BCPS teachers and students in grades K-8. This digital tool supports:

Video playlists on many BCPS approved ed-tech tools have been created to support teachers' personal learning and can also be used when curating resources for student learning. For more information, teachers can go to the Educational Technology Video Library page or to the Educational Technology YouTube Channel to view various video tutorials that support technology integration in BCPS.
