Let's be real...we have all experienced technical issues at some point. This page highlights some of the best places to begin addressing, preventing, and resolving some of the basic technical issues being experienced in BCPS on Chromebooks and Windows Based Devices.
Before digging into the resources below, consider the following:
WiFi CONNECTION AT A BCPS SITE
Make sure you are connected to the BCPS Secure Network. If you are getting an incorrect password message when trying to connect to Secure within a BCPS Building, DoIT has identified a solution! When possible, have the teacher device hard wired through the port replicator.
WiFi CONNECTION AT A REMOTE SITE
Be sure you have connected your device to your home WiFi account.
My G Suite Resources (including Google Meet) aren't working as they should!
Are you getting access errors when trying to open BCPS websites or files? Always check that you are logged into the Chrome browser with your BCPS Credentials and make sure that Syncing is on for your BCPS profile.
Are you having problems with Google Meet video or sound? If you notice a delay in your Meet or the audio and video continues to cut in and out, you may need to force the latest Chrome browser update.

I am having issues with my audio/video settings on my device!
If using a Chromebook, there are some audio/video settings that can be adjusted to resolve sound issues, particularly when in a Google Meet if a forced browser update (mentioned above) doesn't work.
Still can’t hear sound from your Google Meet? Check to see if the Tab has been muted.
When in the Chrome browser, users can right-click on a Chrome Tab and select Mute Site. This disables all sound until unmuted. Even when the Chrome Window and/or Tabs are closed, that setting is saved until the user right-clicks and selects Unmute Site.
*This can be replicated with any Chrome Tab.
I set up my standard classroom technology and have more than one display. What do I do now?
Extending your desktop allows you to share content on more than one display. Make sure to watch the set up that matches what technology is available in your classroom.

Visit the Educational Technology YouTube Channel to access video tutorials that support technology integration in BCPS.
If any piece of the technology noted above is not functioning properly, teachers can submit a BCPS Tech Support Request Form or call the Help Desk between 7 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. at 443-809-4672.
