Wixie

Overview

Wixie Icon

Grade levels: Primary, Intermediate, Middle

Wixie is web-based creation software that is available for BCPS teachers and students in grades K-8.  With Wixie students can share their ideas, imagination, and understanding through their writing, their voice, and their art.  Students can use paint tools, text options, clip art, and voice recording to develop and share digital media. With its new update, Wixie now works seamlessly in the Chrome browser and also provides additional enhanced functionality such as text-to-speech and real-time collaboration.

Access: Wixie is accessible to BCPS teachers and students in grades K-8 through by going to https://bcps.wixie.com/ or the Microsoft My Apps Portal. Then click on the Sign In with Google button to use your BCPS Google account to sign in.

*Wixie expert, Scott Loomis, is available to provide virtual reviews for any BCPS elementary or middle school teacher interested in learning how to effectively use and implement Wixie. This includes all subject areas as well as strategies for use with to support a variety of student needs. Most sessions last between 15-20 minutes. Any interested individual or small group of teachers can contact him directly at sloomis@tech4learning.com.

Getting Started with Wixie

Tech4Learning has an extensive training and support resource built directly into the Wixie Interface.  Users can access support at any time by clicking on the user icon in the top right corner and selecting Help.
